RCCA is a grassroots, community-based nonprofit with one part-time employee. We do not receive any dedicated government funding nor do we have a sustained private funding source. Every donation counts and is needed to keep conservation easements on the forefront of land conservation in Rappahannock County.
RCCA pays a small transaction fee for all PayPal and Credit Card donations. To ensure that we receive the full amount of your donation, please send your check to RCCA at P.O. Box 116, Sperryville, VA 22740. Of course, all donations are welcome, so feel free to use the PayPal button below to submit your donation electronically (via PayPal or any major credit card).

RCCA in 2011:
• In March, RCCA announced a grant program for new easements. These are matching grants for up to $5,000 towards transaction fees associated with a new easement. RCCA looks forward to awarding at least two grants in 2012.
• In May, RCCA held the 7th Annual Evening View – it was our most successful fundraiser to date, netting about $40,000 for the Farmland Preservation Program (FPP) and RCCA’s new grant program.
• In September, RCCA undertook training to monitor VOF easements in Rappahannock. Two Directors are already qualified.
• In October, RCCA held a joint event with the Land Trust of Virginia (LTV) at a beautiful property just outside of Sperryville. RCCA is working with LTV to secure conservation easements on smaller parcels (50 to 100 acres). LTV currently holds two easements in the county and has several projects slated for 2012.
• In November, RCCA held its Annual Meeting and hosted a panel of speakers that included: Bob Lee, Executive Director of VOF; Mike Santucci, the Regional Department of Forestry Specialist; and Don Loock, from the Piedmont Environmental Council.
• Also in November, RCCA announced a $20,000 gift to the FPP – reigniting the fund. RCCA provided $50,000 for a partial purchase of a conservation easement on 236 acres of farmland near Amissville in 2011 and has donated $140,000 to the FPP in the last six years. These funds are matched by the Commonwealth and have helped to protect over 686 acres of Rappahannock County farmland.
